A senior civil engineer is required to join our team for a housing development in East Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, design, and construction along with the junior engineer and site team.Responsibilities• Conduct your work in a safe manner—correct and take responsibility to ensure that all work is carried out to the highest health and safety standards.• Ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided.• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with work colleagues and design teams.• Review detailed design, critique, and communicate with designers to ensure adequate design is available for construction.• Coordinate the development of design from the designer's details to approved workshop drawings or technical information from subcontractors.• Ensure work is carried out to the highest of quality standards and implement the company's project-specific procedures.• Follow direction as part of a team and attend meetings as required.• Ensure setting-out information is relevant and available in a format that can be easily communicated on site.• Manage and lead junior engineers and subcontractors.• Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, material measures, etc.• Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure program targets are achieved.• Liaise with the client's representatives/design team members as appropriate.• Maintaining the site records and records of discussions/meetings with designers and subcontractors.• Maximize profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in your own work, elimination of rework, and contractual awareness.• Ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and within budget and schedule.Who are we looking for?Degree in civil engineering or related field.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry- Familiarity with all aspects of road construction, including earthworks, drainage, pavement, traffic management, etc.- Familiarity with the latest construction technologies and software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Project.- Strong leadership and communication skills.
