Lectureship in Food Business, Department of Food Business & Development

Permanent Whole-time Post

University College Cork seeks to recruit a Lecturer in Food Business.  Reporting to the Head of Department of Food Business and Development, the appointee will be required to develop and teach modules as part of the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Food Business, engage in academic programme direction and develop industry linkages as part of a student placement programme. The appointee will teach on existing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contribute to the future development of undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education in the area of food business. Research interests will complement those of the Department, but research in food business in areas such as consumer behaviour, new product development and food supply chain analysis will be especially valuable. The Department of Food Business and Development is one of five departments within the Cork University Business School. Faculty teach and research across the themes of entrepreneurship and innovation, food business and the consumer, co-operative business, rural and international development, agri-food economics and sustainability. The department has 26 staff in total, 21 faculty and 5 professional staff. Two undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes are currently offered by the Department. There is also a large executive education programme operated from the Department.  There are two research centres associated with the Department: The Centre for Co-operative Studies and The Centre for Sustainable Livelihoods.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer Below the Bar Salary Scale, €34,748 – €61,370 (Scale B) or Lecturer Above the Bar Salary Scale, €67,073 – €86,241 (Scale B)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
