Retail Buyer – Allcare,Life & Hickeys Commercial team

Working as part of the Commercial team, the Buyer is responsible for supporting the purchasing function of the commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this person should be an energetic team player with ambition, who is willing to grow in the role.

Main Duties & Responsibilities;
•The development and implementation of a long term buying / selling strategy in defined categories
•Develop and manage supplier relationships, agreeing JBP’s and marketing support on a quarterly / annual basis
•Supporting the Commercial Manager on day to day tasks
•Responsible for the promotional cycles and attaining commercial pricing for same
•Responsible for accurate forecasting for promotional stock & NPD
•Responsible for ensuring products are available in supply chain in a timely manner
•Required to work closely with the Uniphar Purchasing department
•Supporting the database team by providing updated net prices / supplier price lists
•Using BI tools to create & analyze sales/Margins reports
•Assisting in the preparation of PowerPoints for internal & external meetings
•Assisting the Space Planner with planogram reviews
•Support commercial team on seasonal buying
•Planning promotional & discount model for seasonal trade
•Attending trade shows home / abroad
•Pharmacies visits to check compliance
•Communication preparation for weekly bulletins
•Working closely with the operational support team to identify issues and implement solutions
•Any other reasonable requests

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required;
•3rd level degree
•Excellent numerical & analytical skills to include excellent computer literacy & comprehensive experience with all MS products such as excel, PowerPoint, word etc.
•McLernons/SAP and/or EPOS experience an advantage
•Experience in working in Commercial head office support – min 3 years’ experience required
•Passion for the Retail pharmacy an advantage
•Experience & knowledge in OTC/VMS products desirable
•An ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal & communication skills
•Ability to work cross functionally with internal teams
•Energetic ‘problem solving’ mentality, willing to grow in the role
•Knowledge of pharmacy products & suppliers is essential.
